I created charcoal portraits of my nieces as a gift for my sister. Initially planning to add more detail to the drawings, I sent my sister a progress picture for feedback. To my surprise, she loved the raw, unfinished look of the portraits just as they were. This experience taught me that sometimes less is more; knowing when to stop and appreciate the essence of a piece can often convey more emotion and authenticity than overworking it with unnecessary details.
