Working closely with historian and carpenters, I meticulously cleaned and arranged the World War II artifacts for display. I took responsibility for creating the content for the signage and vinyls applied to the exhibit case. As we were finalizing the placement and before adhering anything, a water line on the ship burst above the display case. Thankfully, the artifacts were designed to withstand water, but the signs I made were damaged. Through this unexpected setback, I learned the importance of resilience and flexibility in museum work, as well as the necessity of careful contingency planning. The experience reinforced the value of thorough documentation and the preservation protocols essential for handling historical artifacts in unpredictable environments.
