Designing the new signs for the brig photo op on the USS Lexington was a significant project that honored the role of the Marines on naval ships. As the navy is prominently celebrated throughout the museum, it was important to update the outdated signage, which had not been refreshed in about 30 years. I created new signs that not only highlighted the Marines' responsibilities in overseeing the brig but also paid homage to their historical significance aboard the ship. This experience taught me the importance of historical research and accuracy in museum signage, as well as the impact of thoughtful design in enhancing visitor engagement and understanding of naval history.
